Commonhold · The web app and the iPhone app

How to get help

Residents. Your building's office runs your building, so contact them first. Open Messages in the app or on the portal and write to the office. They can see your account, your unit and your records, which we cannot answer for.

Managers and boards. Email hello@commonhold.properties. Tell us the building, what you were doing and what you saw. A screenshot helps. Inside the app, the Help button on a page can start that email for you.

Signing in

Enter your email and we send you a six-digit code that lasts ten minutes. Type it in, or tap the button in the same email. If it has not come, check your spam folder and make sure you used the address your building has on file. You can also use a password if you set one, or a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID or a security key), which the app offers once after you sign in. Still locked out? Ask your building's office to check the email address on your record.

The iPhone app and links that open without an account

The iPhone app does what the portal and the staff app do, in one place. Some links need no account at all: a vendor's repair job, a request to sign a document, an application form and a closing agent's estoppel page. Tapping one in an email or text opens it in the app, or in a small App Clip, with nothing to sign into. If a link opens in your browser instead, that works too. If a link says it has expired, ask whoever sent it to send a new one.

Deleting your account or data

Your building's office decides what is kept about you, and the law may require it to keep some records, such as signed documents and meeting minutes. In the portal you can see your records, download any document you signed and correct your contact details. To have information corrected or deleted, ask your building's office, or email hello@commonhold.properties from the address on your account and we will pass it to them and tell you what can be removed. A manager can download everything for a building under Settings, Your data.

Privacy

What we collect, who handles it and how long it is kept is in the Privacy Policy. The Terms are there too.

The demo building

The demo building (Seagrape Court and the other sample buildings) is fictional. Its people, units, money and documents are made up, and it resets every night. Nothing you do there is real, and nothing is sent to anyone.
